Ten Week Post-Op Update
Can't believe it but it's been about 10 weeks since my total knee replacement. I'm now at the time I wished I could fast forward to 11 weeks ago...and here is where my knee is at now: I can pretty much do everything I want to do - almost. It's not the knee I worry about, but rather everything around it that still needs to get stronger. But the pain is really minimal - actually no knee pain at all, just odd muscle and tendonitis pain that started in my lower back, moved to the outer underside of my knee, and then to my inner upper calf: all likely my hamstring. Working with PT on strengthening my glutes to take over for the hamstring. And loving the Theragun to help soften that tight hamstring. The good news is that I can walk the dog no problem most days and always with no knee pain. I even played tennis - albeit doubles in flip flops so I wouldn't run - and it felt great afterward.
